At the Meta Connect 2024 keynote, Mark Zuckerberg introduced us to important innovations in the fields of virtual reality , artificial intelligence , and smart glasses .
The new version of the Quest 3S , which will retail for $299.99, has attracted attention for its affordability. It includes all the features of the Quest 3, but at a lower price. The new device will go on sale on October 15, which is Meta's answer to the competition, especially Apple's Vision Pro, which costs more than $3,500.
The second major innovation was the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses , which now offer real-time translation and greater integration with artificial intelligence. The glasses have built-in features that offer users capabilities such as text recognition, scanning QR codes, and remembering information , such as where you parked your car.
Additionally, Meta announced a prototype of its Orion augmented reality headset, which the company calls "the most advanced virtual reality headset." However, the product is not yet ready for commercial use and is currently undergoing internal testing.
