Samsung unveiled its latest flagship smartphone series, the Galaxy S25, at the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose on January 22, 2025. The new series includes three models: the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, which feature innovative technologies and enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
Design and screen
The Galaxy S25 and S25+ models retain the design of their predecessors, with an aluminum body and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The S25 model is equipped with a 6.2-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display, while the S25+ has a 6.7-inch display. Both models provide a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The S25 Ultra model features a 6.9-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display, a titanium body, and Gorilla Glass Armor 2 protection, making it more durable and elegant.
Camera
The Galaxy S25 and S25+ models feature a 50-megapixel main camera, a 10-megapixel 3x telephoto lens, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. The S25 Ultra model features a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel 5x periscope telephoto lens, a 10-megapixel 3x telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. All models have a 12-megapixel front camera.
Productivity and battery
All three models are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which delivers high performance and energy efficiency. RAM is 12 GB in all models, and internal storage options vary by model:
- Galaxy S25 : 128GB, 256GB
- Galaxy S25+ : 256GB, 512GB
- Galaxy S25 Ultra : 256GB, 512GB, 1TB
Battery capacity also varies:
- Galaxy S25 : 4000 mAh
- Galaxy S25+ : 4900 mAh
- Galaxy S25 Ultra : 5000 mAh
The S25+ and S25 Ultra models support 45W fast charging, while the S25 model supports 25W charging.
Artificial Intelligence and Software
The Galaxy S25 series features enhanced Galaxy AI features that provide a personalized experience for users. New features include Now Brief, which provides daily summaries, Audio Eraser, which improves the sound quality of videos, and Drawing Assist, which helps users create works of art. The smartphones are also integrated with Google’s Gemini AI system, further enriching AI capabilities.
Prices and availability
The Galaxy S25 series smartphones will be available starting February 3, 2025. Prices start at $799.99 for the Galaxy S25 model and go up to $1,299.99 for the Galaxy S25 Ultra model. Customers can take advantage of various promotions and bonuses when pre-ordering.
